Anonymous Device Identifier

When you first open the App, a random anonymous identifier (UUID) is generated and stored on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any personal information. It is used solely to associate your feedback messages and anonymous usage analytics with your device.

We recommend not sharing sensitive personal details through the feedback chat.

If you submit an icon or feature request through the App, the request text and your anonymous device identifier are sent to our server.

Push Notification Tokens

If you enable notifications, your device's push notification token is sent to and stored on our server. This token is used solely to notify you when the developer

has replied to your feedback message. The token is associated with your anonymous device identifier and is not linked to any personal information. You can revoke notification permissions at any time in your device's Settings.

Access Verification

On each app launch, your anonymous device identifier is checked against our server to verify your access status. No personal information is transmitted during this check.

Third-Party Services

Supabase

We use Supabase as our backend service for storing analytics events, feedback messages, and remotely configured chant playlists. Data is transmitted securely over HTTPS. Supabase's privacy policy is available at https://supabase.com/privacy.

Apple Music

If you choose to enable Byzantine chant playback, the App uses Apple's MusicKit framework to search and play music from Apple Music. This requires an Apple Music subscription and your authorization. Music streaming is handled entirely by Apple. We do not access your Apple Music library or listening history. Apple's privacy policy applies to all Apple Music interactions.

OrthodoxCal.info

The App fetches liturgical calendar data from the public orthocal.info API to display daily fasting levels and feast information. No personal data is sent with these requests.

Data Sharing And Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Your anonymous analytics data and feedback messages are stored on our Supabase backend and are accessible only to the developer for the purposes of improving the App and responding to your feedback.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained indefinitely in aggregate form for product improvement.

  • Feedback messages are retained to maintain conversation history and are accessible to you within the App.

  • All locally stored data (prayer preferences, confession notes, Bible bookmarks, etc.) remains on your device until you delete the App or clear its data.

  • You may request deletion of your feedback messages and analytics data by contacting us through the in-app feedback chat.

Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • All network communications use HTTPS encryption.

  • Confession examination results, notes, and personal settings are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption with a key stored securely in your device's Keychain. Access is additionally protected by Face ID or device passcode when enabled. Encrypted data is stored locally and never transmitted to any server.

  • Local data is protected by iOS device encryption.

  • Keychain data uses iOS secure storage.

  • No sensitive personal information is transmitted to external servers.

Children's Privacy

Orthodox Corner does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require account creation and collects only anonymous usage data. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the feedback chat, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

  • You may revoke Apple Music access at any time in your device's Settings > Privacy > Media & Apple Music.

  • You may disable Face ID for confession notes within the App.

  • You may disable all notifications in your device's Settings.

  • You may request deletion of your feedback messages and analytics data by contacting us through the in-app feedback chat.

  • You may delete all locally stored data by deleting the App from your device.
